Square #6: The Grinch

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! I know I did!!! I was able to finish crocheting my Grinch, weave in the ends and even had a little time to type this up!!

Who doesn’t love The Grinch??? I originally made him as a 25×25  graph when I was doing the Christmas CAL from Repeatcrafterme.com and I fell in love with how amazing he turned out!!! I wondered if I could make a few more characters and create a blanket out of Dr. Suess characters. I really enjoyed seeing everyone share their version of the Christmas CAL and I thought it would be so much fun do one as well and see the changes people would make!

I’m so glad I did, even though I’ve never done anything like this, I work full time, and have a little munchkin that doesn’t let me crochet when I’m home!

I made a few changes to that pattern so that I cold include him in this CAL! I love the way he came out!

I’ve been amazed to see the same characters being made using different stitches and colors! I’m in awe every time I these being shared in the group! There are soo many different stitches, I can’t seem to find a favorite!

The Graph for The Grinch is 31×30 squares. I made mine in a HDC stitch using an I hook.

The colors I used for this square are Caron Simply Soft: *=Royal Blue   N= White   L= Black   J= Dark Sage   F= Sunshine

Red Heart Soft:    H= Guacamole

As previously mentioned… The pattern will need to be decoded. Each character represents a block and a color. Odd rows are read from Left to Right and Even rows are read from Right to Left on the pattern. Please decode your pattern before you start crocheting so that you have an accurate pattern.

All the patterns in this Crochet-A-Long have TONS of color changes. Take your time when you are making them and refer to your graph as often as possible so that you know you are not making mistakes.  If the crocheted piece you are working on does not look like the area of the graph you are in it is possible you may have missed something…
